Richmond Powwow
Despite the week of rain, which left Battlefield Park a mud pit, the annual Richmond Powwow kicked once again this year. More than 600 students from all over the state received a chance to learn about the history and culture of Native Americans as the Richmond Powwow. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., students were bussed into the park, where they got to witness, and experience, a Native American dance circle, what it's like to be in a teepee and learned about the lives Native Americans live today.
